RRA Citymakers is publishing its masterplan for Takapuna Metropolitan Centre 2050. We developed the
masterplan in conjunction with our recommended design for Takapuna Town Square.
Our masterplan recognises the growth potential of the Metropolitan Centre and significantly increases its
permeability and commercial/retail opportunities. The plan also makes important additions to the public
space network. A primary focus is the sequential arrangement from Potters Park to Takapuna Beach Reserve.
Our vision not only strengthens Takapuna’s urban structure and amenity. It reinforces the centrality inherent in the first subdivision plan of Takapuna in 1863. The two triangular city blocks form a core around which the metropolis turns, orienting the centre towards both Lake Pupuke and the beach.
