Choice TV has screened the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s two-part series on the changing architecture of Australia’s suburbs called ‘Streets of Our Town’. The series’ focuses on the vast differences between architect-designed houses between 1950-1980 versus today’s McMansions.

A highlight of the series is the filming of Neville Gruzman’s Rosenberg/Hills House, one of the great houses of Australian modernism. Neville designed the house for an eccentric client in 1966 and later made alterations and additions for the Hills family in 1983 and 1992.

Richard Reid worked with Neville on the Hills House in 1992. Richard described his experiences of the house as being “massaged all around by the impossibility of space becoming manifest.”
